Project Management
Our customers can count on an efficient and high-quality approach for their projects. Ferranti has developed a project methodology that doesn’t only help ICT systems run smoothly; it also optimises your work processes. This enables us to keep the ROI high.
Our project lifecycle methodology is a collection of best practices from over thirty years of experience. It comprises four steps in the implementation of ICT. Throughout all these steps a project manager will monitor the objective, the budget, the planning, the quality and the risks. An important guiding framework for this is the Ferranti SureStep framework for project management.

Architecture - First we set the objectives. Together with you we determine all the elements that have to be included in the design, along with all the specifications for the components and the criteria they have to meet, such as response times. This preparatory phase provides you with an important base.

Design - After the analysis we make a technical roadmap of the requested architecture, with all the technological parameters. These detailed documents remain in your possession as a sort of guarantee. At Ferranti we put all our cards on the table.

Implementation and tests - We build the desired software solution or IT infrastructure using the design as the basis. You also receive documented information and operational guides for the integration methods used here.

Delivery - We demonstrate that the system corresponds in its final configuration with the architecture and the design that we describe in the project documents. This completes your project.
There is an approval process between each step. You are very much involved in the development of your project. This methodology takes slightly longer than the standard project approach, but it offers you much greater transparency. In the framework of our ISO quality certificate, we are after all required to keep our project administration in good order.
Service management
Ferranti has a service desk that monitors our customers’ systems 24/7 using its own management system. As a well-structured organisation we use a number of approved working methods for these managed services, such as ITIL and ISO 27000. With MyFerranti our customers have an extranet so they can follow the progress of their tickets.
Consultancy
You can also call on us for technical advice. We analyse your project thoroughly and design an optimisation process with all possible cost savings in the short and long term.
Enterprise Cloud Services
You can now fully outsource your software or servers to Ferranti. We accommodate the systems in our data centre. The computer power is organised to meet your needs and your company can use the systems remotely. This provides extra benefits for scalability, availability and server optimisation, as well as system maintenance and operational security. You can accommodate both ICT applications and infrastructure with us:
- Software-as-a-service provides all the benefits of automation, without software maintenance for you. Amongst other things, our management system for energy companies, MECOMS™, is run in our data centre, alongside more of our other business applications.
- Infrastructure-as-a-service helps you optimise your operational security. If you have to switch over to our data centre in the context of disaster recovery, your data and most important applications are always available for you on systems with more than sufficient capacity. This keeps your DRP costs satisfactorily low.
