PRINCE2, or PRojects IN Controlled Environments, is a project management method, that covers the management, control and organisation of a project.

In essence PRINCE2 is a collection of project management 'best practices'. it provides you with a structured framework to run and organise your projects in order to give them the best possible chance to succeed.

Typically a PRINCE2 project has the following characteristics:

• A finite and defined life cycle
• Defined and measurable business products
• A corresponding set of activities to achieve the business products
• A defined amount of resources
• An organisation structure, with defined responsibilities, to manage the project
