Real time measurement system for Essent Wind

Systems integrator Ferranti is soon to equip Dutch based Essent Wind with a real time measurement system. The system will enable the gathering of data from all Essent wind farms in the Netherlands. The data is displayed in real time on a large screen and is also accessible to Essent employees via the internal network.

The real time measurement system is based on the MECOMS for Microsoft Dynamics AX platform, so that all information can also be retrieved for evaluation and research at a later stage.

Essent Wind is the Business Unit responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power. It enjoys a strong position in its home markets in Germany and the Netherlands and continues to expand its operations in northwest Europe. 

Essent is currently engaged in the construction of the Netherlands’ largest wind farm in Eemshaven. The project comprises the construction of 52 wind turbines, each 100 metres high and with a power rating of 3 MW. Altogether, the farm will have a capacity of 156 MW and will supply electricity to around 135,000 households. This wind farm will also be connected to the measurement system.
