In a nutshell

Ferranti is seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Specialist to join our team and lead the integration of Snowflake and OneLake technologies. This role is crucial in designing and implementing efficient data loading processes, optimizing query performance, and ensuring seamless data flow from our Dynamics 365 Finance and MECOMS systems through a Data Lake to a Snowflake data warehouse.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and implement incremental data loading processes from source databases/OneLake to Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for populating data landing zones, Data Vault, and Data Mart.
  • Work with Synapse link to move data from Microsoft FinOps, SQL Server, and CosmosDB to MS OneLake.
  • Work with OneLake Parquet files and Apache Iceberg formats to ensure data compatibility.
  • Optimize data access and query performance across the data pipeline.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the data pipeline.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in Snowflake, OneLake, Synapse & Fabric, and related technologies.

Profile

You have:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience as a Data Warehouse Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Parquet file formats.
  • Experience with ETL, integration, and modeling.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and data governance.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Eagerness to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience in the energy and utilities sector is a plus.
